Infection Control Training ‘Reducing the Risk’ training is facilitated by our expert registered nursing team with first-hand clinical experience within your workplace

This full day blended learning course allows participants to gain a practical and theoretical understanding of their roles in reducing the spread of infections at work. The training focuses upon best practice of effective infection prevention and control.

Infection Control Training Summary

  • Training underpinned by the World Health Organisation guidelines and framed by national infection control and regulatory protocols.
  • Hand-washing best practice and the practical application of alcohol hand gel based upon World Health Organisation – Hand Hygiene: Why, How & When (2009).
  • Delegates supervised to utilise UV light-boxes allowing attendees to monitor their hand washing effectiveness.
  • Delegates encouraged to consider best practice for decontamination of equipment/surfaces and basic practical infection control measures to limit the spread of infections.

Infection Control Session Outline

To maximize the number of attendees our registered nurses can deliver 3 x 2 ½ hour practical drop in sessions throughout the day, content will include. Training can also be delivered remotely via online webinars:

  • What are infections and how do they spread?
  • What are the symptoms?
  • How do they spread and how we can reduce the risk?
  • Simple infection control measures to protect yourself and others
  • At risk groups
  • Practical advice, including maintaining a clean environment and hand-washing
  • Infection control practical workshop

Why is it important?

It is vital that organisations look to reduce the risk of employee sickness due to infections and the wider impact on suppliers, customers, production and productivity. Our training offers organisations the opportunity to facilitate practical infection control employee training.

Over a full day our registered nursing team can undertake 3 practical drop in sessions lasting 2 ½ hours offering attendees the opportunity to learn effective infection control measures, ask questions and learn how to implement them throughout the workplace. Training can also be conducted remotely via online webinars.

Teaching is supported by helpful infection control guides and resources that can be utilised within the workplace.
