A swab is taken by you, under the direct supervision of our clinical nursing team in one of our travel clinics.

You will receive your results in 48 hours.

Before you arrive in the UK, you must book a Day 2 test that takes place on or before day 2 after your arrival. (The day you arrive is day 0.)

You do not have to quarantine when you arrive in the UK.

Children aged 4 and under do not need to take this test.

You are required to have a test on or before Day 2 of your self-isolation period, and then another test on or after Day 8. You must quarantine for 10 days.

You can take a further test om Day 5 (Test to Release) to reduce your isolation period to 6 days.

Fully vaccinated means you have received all necessary doses of a vaccine:

· in the UK, or UK vaccine programme overseas

· with the Oxford/AstraZeneca, Pfizer BioNTech, Moderna or Janssen vaccines (or formulations of the vaccines in the relevant countries such as AstraZeneca Covishield in the EU, Andorra, Iceland, Lichtenstein, Monaco, Norway, San Marino, Switzerland, Vatican City State, the US, Australia, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Bahrain, Brunei, Canada, Dominica, Israel, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, New Zealand, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan or the UAE

Arrivals must have had a complete course of a recognised vaccine at least 14 days before arriving in England.

Under these new rules, fully vaccinated arrivals from countries not on the red list will have to take a day 2 test, with no requirement to isolate unless positive. They will not be required to take a Pre-Departure Test or a day 8 test. All positive, viable, day 2 tests will be sequenced.

The UK government has recognised the following vaccines and vaccination programmes for entering the UK:

Oxford/AstraZeneca, Pfizer BioNTech, Moderna or Janssen vaccines (or formulations of the vaccines in the relevant countries such as AstraZeneca Covishield in the EU, Andorra, Iceland, Lichtenstein, Monaco, Norway, San Marino, Switzerland, Vatican City State, the US, Australia, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Bahrain, Brunei, Canada, Dominica, Israel, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, New Zealand, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan or the UAE.

You must self-isolate for 10 days from the day after your test date, even if you do not have symptoms of COVID-19. People who you live with or are travelling with should also self-isolate for 10 days.

If your Day 2 test is positive, it will undergo further testing to identify variants of COVID-19. This is important to prevent new variants coming into the UK.

Yes, you are permitted to travel to a COVID-19 testing facility for your Day 2 & Day 8 Tests. You can also do this for your Day 5 Test to Release test.

Results are sent 48 hours from receipt of the lab. You will receive your results in 2 days before midnight

Yes, you can take a Day 5 Test to leave quarantine early if you receive a negative test result on or after day 5 through the Test to Release programme. You can book a Test to Release test through our website.

However, you still need to take your day 8 test even if you receive a negative test to release result.

 

No, you must receive a negative day 8 test and complete your 10 day quarantine before leaving self-isolation.
