Before you arrive in the UK, you must book a Day 2 lateral flow test that takes place on or before day 2 after your arrival. (The day you arrive is day 0.)

You do not have to quarantine when you arrive in the UK.

Children aged 4 and under do not need to take this test.

Fully vaccinated means that you have completed a course of an approved vaccine at least 14 days before you arrive in England. The day you had your final dose does not count as one of the 14 days.

The vaccine must be administered under either:

  • the UK vaccination programme
  • an overseas vaccination programme with an approved proof of vaccination for travel to the UK

You are required to have a PCR test on or before Day 2 of your self-isolation period, and then another test on or after Day 8. You must quarantine for 10 days.

You can take a further test om Day 5 (Test to Release) to reduce your isolation period to 6 days.

Fully vaccinated means you have received all necessary doses of a vaccine:

· in the UK, or UK vaccine programme overseas

· with the Oxford/AstraZeneca, Pfizer BioNTech, Moderna or Janssen vaccines (or formulations of the vaccines in the relevant countries such as AstraZeneca Covishield in the EU, Andorra, Iceland, Lichtenstein, Monaco, Norway, San Marino, Switzerland, Vatican City State, the US, Australia, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Bahrain, Brunei, Canada, Dominica, Israel, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, New Zealand, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan or the UAE

Arrivals must have had a complete course of a recognised vaccine at least 14 days before arriving in England.

Under these new rules, fully vaccinated arrivals from countries not on the red list will have to take a day 2 test, with no requirement to isolate unless positive. They will not be required to take a Pre-Departure Test or a day 8 test. All positive, viable, day 2 tests will be sequenced.

If you booked a lateral flow test and the result is positive, you must take a PCR test to confirm the result. You must self-isolate until you get the result of the PCR test.

If the PCR test result is positive, you must self-isolate for 10 full days. The day you took the lateral flow test is day 0. Members of your household may also be asked to self-isolate.

A simple nasal swab is taken and applied to the lateral flow device. Results are then provided within 15 minutes. Please watch our video below on how to take a rapid antigen test.

A Day 2 lateral flow test will cost £39 in clinic or £45 via a video call with a tester.

Results are sent immediately during your virtual appointment and within 30 minutes for appointments in clinic.
